How to Measure up for your Gate
Whether you need a pedestrian or Driveway gate, we will require the following measurements so that we can offer you a quote.
Please follow this guide carefully when measuring your gates. For your convenience and clarity, please fill in the boxes on the form.

What’s the Ground like
It is essential to consider the ground when the gate is closed and what it is like when it opens.
Assuming the gate posts in the diagram above are seen from a profile position and the arrow heads are pointing towards your property, does the ground slope up towards the property or down towards the property or is the ground flat?
Remember that the gate may be as wide as the driveway or Pedestrian entrance.
Check the variation of the ground through an estimated sweep of the gates.
Check the length of the proposed gate for a slope upward or down and away from the gate, based on the direction of the swing. i.e.
If the gate is to swing in toward the property, does the ground slope upwards toward the property, possibly causing an obstruction to the opening of the gate?
